The above injured person is al-Bakri Hassan, who has been assaulted in a peaceful anti-Government demonstration in the city of al-Nuhud in North Kordofan State, Sudan. He has been brutally tortured by the regime’s militias, including beating on his head, neck and shoulder which has then resulted in a broken bones on his right side and there is a possibility of broken neck bones. He was taken to al-Obeid Hospital in an unconscious state, suffering from the blockage of respiratory system. The doctors in al-Obeid had managed to remove sands, breathing by-products from him, and he was unstable for his heart was unusually beating fast and he was breathing with difficulty. He is said to be currently stable, but unable to speak though he can write for he has managed to write that the regime’s militias have filled his mouth with mud and dipped his head in water (water boarding). When his chest was examined, it was found that the air was not circulating as it should have been through his right side in comparison to the left one. The x-ray photo has shown foreign materials in his lung; he requires x-ray examination on his head, neck and microscopic test for his lung. The equipment to carry out these tests are not available in al-Obeid Hospital. Consequently, he has been transferred to Ibrahim Malik Hospital.
