*In His First Visit Abroad, will the President of the United States Meet the Only Incumbent President Wanted by the ICC*

An official Sudanese presidential source and close aid of the notorious dictator Field Marshall General Bashir, the incumbent President of Sudan, informed the media that General Bashir is officially invited by Saudi Arabia to attend an Islamic leaders’ summit on May 20-21, 2017 with the President of the United States, Donald Trump, in his first visit abroad, beginning in Saudi Arabia.  This announcement created a wider concern among the victims of genocide and war crimes in Sudan and outside Sudan, among those who have been struggling for decades against the brutal regime of the National Congress in Sudan, which used political Islam to infringe on the rights of millions of Sudanese, executing many of them and arbitrarily arresting thousands of them, bombarding civilian populations, denying humanitarian access, and discriminating based on religion against its own people and in particular the Christian Sudanese.  Last week, Bashir’s government destroyed one of their churches in the capital, Khartoum.  It is worth mentioning, it is General Bashir who harbored Osama bin Laden and his group, and he was involved in the destruction of the World Trade Center in New York and the American Embassies in Kenya and Tanzania that killed many Americans and Africans.  These are a few among many incidents; the Sudan government is still continuing terrorism among its own people and the outside world, using their many secret links with the terrorist networks on the one hand and cooperating with the U.S. on the other hand.  They are part of the problem and they have never been part of the solution.  We appeal to the U.S. Administration, the U.S. Congress, the Commission for Religious Freedom in the U.S., the American media, civil societies, religious leaders and human rights activists worldwide to voice their concern, to speak out against the participation of General Bashir in this summit, and in particular the sessions that include the President of the United States, and to demand instead that General Bashir be handed over to the ICC.
